Intro / Synopsis

Marsa Alam, a relatively young town on Egypt’s Red Sea, is known for its mountains, sandy beaches, and thriving marine life. Yet for decades, eco-tourism pioneers in the region relied on diesel generators — dreaming of the day they could shift to renewable energy.

This documentary tells the story of change led by KarmSolar, beginning with their first solar project in 2015 with Red Sea Diving Safari, and culminating in the launch of the Marsa Alam Solar Grid. Today, the region’s most prominent eco-lodges are moving away from diesel and towards clean, connected solar power.
